With the death of GCN+ it has become much harder to watch professional bike racing in the United States. Being a ‘Covid Baby’, my experience with online streaming services for pro races is luckily somewhat limited. Finding the best platforms to watch your favorite pro races is back to being a challenge, especially in the United States. But fear not, because I’ve got you covered! In this comprehensive guide, I’m going to look at the top 3 different options available for watching the biggest races in the US and provide a detailed chart of all the races you can watch through each streaming service like FLO, Peacock, and Max.

How to Watch Bike Racing in the United States

1. FLO Bikes ($149 Anually)

FLOBikes has a lot to offer if you’re a fan of cycling…but that’s about it. While not the most expensive of the platforms, it definitely is probably the one to carry the least value to its customers. I say that because three weeks ago it looked like FLO was your only option for some of the most prestigious races… but keep reading.

  • Tour de France (June 29th)
  • Vuelta a España (August 17th)
  • Paris-Roubaix (April 7th)
  • Tour of Flanders (March 31st)
  • Liège-Bastogne-Liège (April 24th)
  • Amstel Gold Race (April 14th)
  • Strade Bianche (March 2nd)
  • La Flèche Wallonne (April 17th)

2. Peacock ($59.99 Annualy / $5.99mo)

Peacock is no slouch! On top of having the 2024 Olympics, they specifically list having Pro Women’s races available for us as well! Here’s a link to all of their cycling events:

Be sure to check your cable companies, as NBC is on a lot of basic cable packages and you might get access to these for no or little additional cost.

  • Vuelta a España (August 17th)
  • Paris-Roubaix (April 7th)

  • La Fleche Wallonne (April 17th)
  • Critérium du Dauphiné (June 2nd)

3. Max ($20mo)

Max is the big player. If you’re a fan of Strade Bianche or Milan Sanremo Max may be your only option in 2024. As of the time of writing, that is currently the case. On top of that they have also said they will include over 300 professional bike races in 2024! Price includes B/R sports package.

Max PR statement: Live cycling coverage on Max will include more than 300 of the world’s biggest racing events, including the prestigious Giro d’Italia, all race weekends of the UCI Mountain Bike World Series, all rounds of the UCI Track Champions League, 53 women’s World Tour Pro Series broadcasts, the E3 Saxo Bank Classic, the Kuurne–Brussels–Kuurne, and more. All in, Max will be the one to watch for U.S. cycling fans, offering more live cycling event coverage throughout the year than any other streaming service.

  • Tour de France (June 29th)
  • Giro d’Italia (May 4th)
  • Vuelta a España (August 17th)
  • Strade Bianche (March 2nd)
  • E3 Saxo Classic (March 22nd)
  • Milano-Sanremo (March 16th)
  • Tirreno-Adriatico (March 34th)
  • UAE Tour (February 19th)
  • Plus ~300 more.

Okay… but which should I get?

Look… It’s the goddamn wild west out there right now. I think this is going to a more living conversation than a set schedule that we can rely on 4 months in advance. A couple of weeks ago, a lot of the information above wasn’t accurate and it may be inaccurate a week from now. But I will do my best to keep up on it… selfishly because I don’t want to miss a race.

But anyway… Peacock is by far the best value. They have a ton of races, including at least 2/3 of the grand tours and it’s such a low price. Again… that “low price” might be free to you if you already have a basic cable plan locally.

MAX will have 300+ Pro cycling events… that’s a lot of events but $20 a month is also a lot of money. This is the choice I’m going with as I already have a MAX subscription anyway and I get NBC/Peacock free with my cable package.

FLOBikes… that’s…. that’s a lot. Lot of content lot of money. So… do your thing. Also you can only stream on devices on the same wifi.

Worst case scenario though… TIZ always a shame when you can’t watch racing.
